Writing
employee
comments
can
be
difficult
and
the
following
tips
are
provided
as
a
guide
on
how
to
go
about
it.
- Avoid the heat of the moment.
- Read the evaluation carefully before beginning to write. Give yourself some time, at least a day to think about the comments and ratings before you write your response.
- Make sure you acknowledge points where there is disagreement and be clear and specific in your examples of why you disagree.
- Write your points as you want them written. The most important thing is that you get your point across.
- Keep a “me” file on your accomplishments through the year so you have them to refer to at review time.
- Make sure that you balance your comments with positive and constructive ideas.
- This is your performance review and the employee comments section is an opportunity to express yourself about your own performance.
