Common Medical Devices, Vitals, and Clinical Scales
The Health Clinical Skills Lab Series is a recurring professional development initiative designed to bridge in-class learning with practical, real-world skill application for students interested in clinical work currently enrolled in Recreation and Leisure Studies, Health Studies, and Kinesiology. Led by Health faculty and/or practicing professionals from a range of health and clinical settings, these 1-2 hour workshops give students hands-on exposure to the practical competencies, professional pathways, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills needed to succeed in clinical and community-based placements, co-op terms, and future certification or registration processes (e.g., NCTRC/CTRS, R/TRO, and other relevant professional designations across health disciplines).
Students will develop practical familiarity with common medical devices, vital signs, and clinical assessment scales used across health and community-based setting. They will practice taking and interpreting basic vital signs and applying commonly used clinical scales and tools within appropriate professional contexts.
This session is open to all students in the Faculty of Health.
Space is limited and registration is required.
