UW Sport Management Case Competition

Connecting the classroom to the boardroom!

Students enrolled in sport-management related disciplines from across Ontario are provided the opportunity to apply what they have learned in the classroom about business operations to real life issues faced by an international sport organization.

Participants are provided with detailed information from the featured organization as well as a current issue they are facing in their daily operations. This one-day event includes working sessions, one-on-one meetings with a representative from the organization, and two rounds of presentations to a panel of judges from within the field. The event concludes with a reception at the Bombshelter Pub where finalists are awarded their prizes including the monetary grand prize.

In the inaugural competition, the University of Waterloo had four teams of Recreation and Sport Business students participating and were honoured to host teams from Brock University, the University of Windsor, the University of Western Ontario, and Laurentian University.
