Chris Williams, BA ’91 (Fine Arts), is a Canadian animator, film director, screenwriter and voice actor who has directed many animated movies and worked many beloved films of the last three decades --Mulan, Lilo & Stitch and Frozen, to name a few. Big Hero 6, which Chris directed, and won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature. Other films which were nominated for Oscars included Bolt (for Best Animated Feature) and Moana (for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song).

Dr. Palmer Patterson, retired Professor of History at the University of Waterloo, passed away on May 17, 2023. He was a scholar of the history of Indigenous peoples in Canada, and later in his career of the American South during the post-Civil War period.
