2017 Arts Young Alumni Award Recipient
Hyder Hassan received a BA in Liberal Studies in 2012, which he earned while working part-time in banking. By the time he graduated, he was a Senior Business Analyst, and was soon recruited to start a new department for the National Bank of Canada. Today he is Head of Wealth at First Calgary Financial, managing teams at 15 branches. Along with his burgeoning career, Hyder continued to advance his education, earning six major finance sector designations.
Hyder shows an immense passion for mentoring young leaders and is active in many organizations in his local community, including the Rotary Club, the Chiu School of Business at Bow Valley College, and Alberta Health Services citizenship advisory committee. He is also a career mentor and presenter for Calgary Immigrant Services.
Hyder is also co-founder of the social enterprise www.fullsoul.ca
FullSoul.ca is non-profit, which was created via the St Paul's Green house incubator program and installs maternal medical kits in developing nations in Africa. FullSoul medical kits have saved thousands of mothers and children in Uganda by increasing the safety of the mother's delivery experience.
