Applied to Honours Arts ONLN via OUAC? Your next steps are different, as there are limited options for online majors. Our Centre for Extended Learning maintains a list of all Waterloo courses that are available online. You will be contacted by your academic advisor.
First-year Honours Arts course requirements
All of our courses are four months in length. You'll normally take five courses in your fall term and five courses in your winter term.
Co-op
First year courses are the same for students that are in the co-op program and for those that are not. Co-op work terms will start in your 2nd year.
If you are not in co-op but would like to join the co-op program, please contact your First year advisor.

EXPLORE the first-year course list and descriptions.
- Discover elective courses available to you as a first-year Arts student.
- Numerous minors and diplomas are available. You may want take a course towards a prospective minor or diploma as a first year elective.
- Note that most Arts courses are held in person.
SUBMIT your Course Selections in Quest.
- Review "How do I select courses in Quest" for step by step instructions on how to request your courses.
- Watch the Course Selection video tutorial.
- Login to Quest and your courses.

November 18th
VIEW your winter class schedule in Quest to see your course selection results.
Don't see all the classes you requested? You can make changes to your schedule starting on November 24th at 9 am (EST).
View your Appointment time in Quest: You will have an appointment time in Quest on November 24th. This is when you get access to make changes to your Winter schedule. Once you have access you will continue to have access until the final ADD deadline in mid-January 2027.

MAKE approved changes to your schedule, if needed.

- If you didn't get into all of the classes you requested, you must add additional classes (to a maximum of 5 classes in total).
ALERT! ALL Waterloo students have access to Quest to add fall courses as of November 25th. This means available spots in classes will likely fill up quickly after this date.
