Why did you choose the University of Waterloo? Both of my parents are alumni of Waterloo, so although I did tour a number of other schools before choosing Waterloo, it has always felt like the right choice for me. The co-op program was especially attractive to me as a way to graduate with work experience. I was also drawn in by the diversity of course offerings and ability to customize my degree to my interests and goals.

What do you like most about your program? I most enjoy that I get to learn from professors who have direct experience in the fields of psychology and social work. Hearing their stories from within the field has solidified my passion for this work!

Co-op experience/what you like about co-op at Waterloo? The co-op program has done a lot to prepare me for my future by helping me to develop and refine my job searching, applying, and interviewing skills, as well as by helping me to be more aware of what I like and don't like in a job. Every new co-op term presents an opportunity for me to try a different type of job within my field and see how I feel about it, which is what I value most in it. Sometimes you think you'll hate a job and actually love it, or vice versa. Trying new things, gaining experience, and developing skills is what co-op is all about, and it has been incredibly valuable to me.
