Organizational changes at the Centre for Teaching Excellence

Wednesday, June 26, 2019

The Centre for Teaching Excellence is pleased to share with our university community that as of July 1, 2019, we have been approved to make a few changes to our organizational structure:

  1. All job titles that include “instructional developer” will change to “educational developer”.
  2. Trevor Holmes will become CTE’s Associate Director, and all five remaining Sr. Educational Developer positions will report to him.
  3. Mary Power’s new title will be Sr. Educational Developer, Faculty Programs, and she will manage all faculty programs.
  4. Mark Morton’s new title will be Sr. Educational Developer, Inquiry & Communications, and he will manage all research-related programs and services along with communications from CTE.
  5. Katherine Lithgow’s new title will be Sr. Educational Developer, Integrative & Experiential Learning.
  6. Veronica Brown’s new title will be Sr. Educational Developer, Curriculum & Quality Enhancement.
  7. Svitlana Taraban Gordon’s new title will be Sr. Educational Developer, Graduate Programs & Internationalization.

These changes represent the first phase of revising our organizational structure in response to the external review that we did in 2017. One key goal was to significantly reduce the operational load on the Director position to make more time for strategic and organizational-level work. This change should accomplish that, and position the Centre for ongoing success. Any questions should be directed to Donna Ellis, CTE’s Director.
