You may be wondering what life in Waterloo is all about. That’s where I come in, here to report on all the amazing activities and support you can find, both on and off campus!

You’ve checked out admission requirements, residence, fees and scholarships… but what about student life? There’s a lot more to the university experience than attending lectures.

To start off, indulge in your hobbies! Volunteering, workshops, clubs… there’s almost countless ways to get involved on campus.

For example, if you’re looking for an innovative group of students working together on creating something awesome, consider joining a design team. There’s a role for everyone — from raising money to writing reports and developing software. Any and all Waterloo students are welcome. Or, if that’s not your thing, there are a ton of fun teams, from concrete tobogganing to robotics to rocketry!

Let’s get into some ways to get fit on campus. Whether you’re a fitness junkie or simply looking to start a workout routine, there are plenty of resources to help you stay both physically and mentally healthy.

Of course, this article wouldn’t be complete without mentioning Uptown Waterloo. It’s a 20-minute walk from campus and a mere two stops away via light rail transit. With it's wide variety of restaurants, cafés, shops, and community events, it’s the perfect place to hang out over the weekend or to unwind after class.
