Shadow a Science student

Discover what it's like to be a Science student at Waterloo! We've got a whole team of students who'd love to show you around campus and have you "shadow" them for a day.

Shadow days can include

  • attending a lecture,
  • seeing a lab,
  • touring the Faculty of Science, and
  • meeting current students and professors in your program of interest.

We'll try to connect you with a student in your program of interest but it’s not always possible due to the availability of our students. It may take several days to arrange since our students have classes, assignments, and tests on the go!

Shadow Days are available to students in Grade 11 and above.

We look forward to welcoming you to Waterloo and helping you get a feel for life on campus. To make the opportunity available to as many students as possible, you can request a maximum of two Shadow Days. 

Your date of birth is collected to confirm your identity and to match your details with a current or future application to Waterloo, if applicable. This information will be used solely for this purpose.

Please register for Shadow Days in a future year.

To accommodate students who will be applying to university in the next year or two, Shadow Days are available only to students in grade 11 and 12.

Which program or major interests you the most? (Select one)
  • Shadow Days are available Monday through Friday only (excluding holidays).
  • The earliest you can book is a week from today so that we can schedule a student for you.
  • Please select at least three dates.
  • The final availability for the term is April 2.
