A variety of services are available from Homewood Health as part of the Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP).

Counselling services

Confidential counselling services are available face-to-face (flexible hours), by telephone or online for a variety of reasons, including:

  • Stress Management
  • Depression Anxiety
  • Alcohol/drug abuse
  • Marital Couple problems
  • Family-of-origin conflicts
  • Gambling
  • Violence/Trauma
  • Emotional/Individual issues
  • Bereavement and loss
  • Workplace issues

While there is no defined maximum number of counselling sessions available, the services are provided based on a short-term outcome based model, which is not intended for the long-term treatment of mental disorders.

Life Smart Coaching Services

Life Smart Coaching Services provide work-life balance assistance and are available by telephone (not available outside of North America). You'll receive expert advice, information, and coaching that you can access and use in your own way. These services include:

  • Life Balance Solutions – childcare, parenting, elder and family care, relationship solutions, financial consultation, legal advisory
  • Health Smart Coaching – smoking cessation,  Jump start your Wellness, nutritional counselling
  • Career Smart Coaching  - career coaching/counselling, pre-retirement planning, shift worker support

Online services

  • E-learning courses – available through Homewood Health’s website, offer self-directed, confidential and interactive online courses designed to help one take charge of one’s health and well-being
  • Busy Family – childcare and eldercare resource locators (not available outside of North America)
  • Health Library – access to a comprehensive library of medical information
  • Health and Wellness Assessments – tools to assess health risk and develop improvement plans
