Your pension plan: exploring a move to UPP
The University of Waterloo is exploring the possibility of joining University Pension Plan (UPP). To do so would mean converting our Registered Pension Plan (RPP) to UPP, a multi-employer, jointly sponsored defined benefit pension plan.
Minimum Wage Changes – effective October 1, 2025
Effective October 1, 2025, the minimum wage in Ontario will increase to $17.60 per hour, following the annual inflation adjustment, and $16.60 for students under age 18.

Format: In-person and online workshop options
Flexibility in the workplace involves adapting routines, expectations, and ways of working to make the most of both on-campus presence and flexible arrangements. Employees contribute to a culture of flexibility by building trust, communicating openly, supporting colleagues, and taking accountability for their role in supporting team and organizational success.
This session will help participants navigate shifting expectations while maintaining strong communication, connections, and collaboration. Employees will gain strategies for balancing personal well-being with productivity, and for contributing to a culture of trust, inclusion, and accountability within their teams. They will also explore engaging in effective conversations with managers about flexible work needs and arrangements.
Keeping Well at Work: Establishing Healthy Boundaries with Assertiveness
Format: Online session
Many of us face challenges setting appropriate boundaries when competing values, goals and priorities exist. This session will explore the benefits of setting and maintaining healthy boundaries and outline practical strategies for doing so with confidence, empathy and self-compassion.
