Leadership Lab: Emerging Leadership

Date/Time:

The series for Emerging Leaders will meet in Spring 2024 on the following Mondays from 1:00-2:30 pm:

  • Monday, June 17, 2024
  • Monday, July 8, 2024

Workshop Overview:

Leadership Lab: Emerging Leadership offers comfortable and supportive space for individual contributors and project leads at the University to co-create an informal peer community. Using the Circles of Influence Framework to guide the conversation, participants will reflect on their leadership style and practices, identify where their control and influences lies with respect to a pre-selected issue, and learn from each other about how to approach challenges arising.

In a work environment as big as UWaterloo, we want to offer intentional space for employees in non-supervisory roles to come together to collectively think through how broader University culture and direction impacts them. Leadership Lab: Emerging Leadership aims to bring individual contributors together to explore how they can lead themselves, and others by example, all while receiving and providing each other compassionate care.

Each meeting will focus on a specific theme connected to the University community. The themes for Spring 2024 are:

  • Monday, June 17 - Personalizing Institutional Direction
  • Monday, July 8 - Embodying a Culture of Recognition

Please note: This offering has been designed to be audience specific. Participants with direct supervisory responsibility are encouraged to register for the Leadership Lab: People Leadership offering.
