Academic Program for Graduate Study in Industrial-Organizational Psychology

Degree requirements for the master’s and doctoral degrees for all Psychology graduate students are provided on the overall departmental web page

On that page, an overview of the program requirements for the MASc degree may be found under the heading: “MASTER OF APPLIED SCIENCE (MASC) IN INDUSTRIAL-ORGANIZATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY (2 YEARS).”

For doctoral students, the overview information appears under “DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY (PHD) IN PSYCHOLOGY.”

A further departmental page for degree requirements includes a link to more specific information for I-O Psychology graduate students

The rest of the page that you are now viewing is provided to reorganize this same information into a timeline for the two years of master’s study that most students experience either initially (en route to PhD) or else in toto as recipients of MASc degrees.

There is variation from year to year concerning when the graduate courses listed there are offered, such as whether a particular course is offered in the first or second year of someone’s master’s program. Nevertheless, a typical sequence of courses and other activities is as follows. Incoming and continuing students should discuss elective courses and any other optional courses or activities with their supervisors before undertaking them.
