Academic standing

This website is for Psychology Majors.

The minimum average requirements for satisfactory standing in the Psychology academic plans are listed in the Undergraduate calendar. Understanding your official transcript:

Academic standing: conditional

Conditional standing may be granted for one academic term to a Psychology Major whose cumulative Psychology average falls below the minimum requirement for satisfactory standing. Note however, that conditional standing is not automatically granted and that decisions are made on a case-by-case basis. The Psychology Department reserves the right to limit the number of students on conditional standing.

Academic standing: at risk of being required to withdraw

Faculty of Arts students

You must meet one of the following criteria by the end of the next school term in order to avoid a 'failed required to withdraw' standing:

  • satisfy the requirements to continue in a Psychology Major.
  • satisfy the requirements for admission to another program e.g., a different Major, Three-Year General Liberal Studies, or Four-Year General Liberal Studies. See the Undergraduate calendar for available programs and requirements. Depending on the circumstances, an appeal to continue your studies might be necessary. Consult with the appropriate academic advisor.
