The Role

  • Arnold Hearing Centres is looking for an enthusiastic student to join our team as a Community Outreach Coordinator. This role focuses on building connections within the community and organizing outreach events to raise awareness about hearing health. You’ll actively plan and coordinate special events such as our 75th anniversary, sponsorship events, and patient appreciation events. With a flexible schedule, most work can be completed remotely, with occasional in-person visits to one of our Kitchener locations.

Key Responsibilities:
1.Community Outreach:

  • Establish relationships with local charities, pharmacies, community centres, church groups, retirement homes, senior centres, etc.
  • Plan and coordinate one quarterly outreach activity for each Arnold Hearing Centre location.
  • Develop quarterly outreach packages for physicians, adhering to budget guidelines.

2.Event Coordination:

  • Assist in planning and executing community events, including our upcoming 75th-anniversary celebration, sponsorship events, and patient appreciation days.
  • Manage event budgets, coordinate with staff, and prepare materials such as banners, swag, prizes, and interactive activities.
  • Oversee the logistics of events, including scheduling, promotion, and on-site coordination to ensure successful execution and a positive experience for attendees.

3.Collaboration and Reporting:

  • Report directly to the owner on all event planning and budgeting.
  • Coordinate with the owner in one-on-one or group meetings with the outreach team.
  • Track and measure the success of outreach activities by monitoring community engagement and revenue generation.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an outgoing personality and ability to build relationships.
  • Excellent organizational skills, capable of coordinating multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently, with strong time management skills.

Desired skills or assets

  • Availability: 1-2 days per week (majority remote) and attendance at a Kitchener location at least twice a month (possibly once a week).
  • Technology: Access to a reliable computer/laptop with internet.
