In this ongoing lecture series presented by the Foundation for Palestinian Studies Fund at the University of Waterloo, we learn about and engage with each other to understand new perspectives and to work for peace in this often volatile region of the world. Right now, when Palestinians and Israelis alike are suffering and the humanitarian situation is deteriorating, we will come together again to talk and to listen.

Monarch, Mother, Murderer, Monstrosity? Reflections on Cleopatra

Join Sheila Ager, Professor in Classical Studies and Dean of Arts, for this special lecture. Dr. Ager is an expert in Greek history, specializing in the Hellenistic age – the years between the death of Alexander the Great in 323 BC and the suicide of Cleopatra in 30 BC.

The Urgency of Social Justice launch

The Arts Quad was filled with good vibes, solidarity and advocacy at The Urgency of Social Justice event on September 20. Presented by the Gender and Social Justice program, students, staff, faculty, and community members gathered to build awareness and strengthen support for social justice activities on campus and off.

Congratulations to three Faculty of Arts members who have been elected to the Royal Society of Canada’s College of New Scholars, Scientists and Artists: Dr. Igor Grossmann (Psychology), Dr. Naila Keleta-Mae (Communication Arts), and Dr. Nicole Nolette (French Studies).
