Casey Remmer

PhD Candidate in
Biology - Water,
Faculty of Science

Casey Remmer examines the importance of long term records in interpreting environmental change and in attributing stakeholder responsibility.

Marisa Beck

PhD Candidate in
Global Governance, Faculty of Environment

Marisa questions how climate-economic models are built and used in the context of political and economic interests.

Within the context of climate change, both Casey and Marisa show that collecting data and building models of climate change is never free from politics and values.

How can this tension between science and politics in the measurement of climate change impacts be resolved?

Join Waterloo’s President Feridun Hamdullahpur and Associate Provost, Graduate Studies Jeff Casello at the inaugural GRADtalks event.
