The Indigenous Speakers Series is honoured to present Dr. Talena Atfield, member of the Kanien’kehá:ka Nation of the Six Nations of the Grand River. Focusing on her work with Hodinohso:ni basket weavers, Dr. Atfield will speak about Western notions of the origins of Indigenous artistic practices versus the importance of arts and creation within the community.

Special Presentation: Rock This Town

Rock This Town brings to life the exciting history of rock music concerts in KW from the 1960s and 1970s with an insider’s look into the local live music scene.

The documentary was produced by Betty Anne Keller (BA '69), who has extensive history of promoting arts in the Region of Waterloo, first as a concert promoter, and later as a municipal employee.  She still works in the promotion of the local arts scene, with Rock This Town being her latest effort.
