Healthy City Panel Discussion

Join Psychology doctoral candidate and Kitchener Public Library guest librarian Robin Mazumder for a discussion on how cities contribute to our health. We’ll hear from experts in the field and have a discussion on ways we can make Kitchener a vibrant, healthy and happy city. Panelists include Dr. Colin Ellard (University of Waterloo, Psychology), Dr. Leia Minaker (University of Waterloo, Planning) and Rod Regier, Commissioner of Planning, Development and Legislative Services for the Region of Waterloo. Come with ideas and an open mind!

Movement within art and math and where it takes us

Our experiences, in work and life alike, challenge us to grow and evolve. This process allows us to realize the quintessential goal of education: to change ourselves. In this presentation, Dr. Edward Burger (Mathematics) and Victoria Star Varner (Fine Arts) will not only share two such personal journeys – one within the world of art and the other within the world of mathematics – but also challenge the audience to find the bridges that connect these two different stories.

Bodo Hell & Peter Gruber: Nature Writers

Bodo Hell and Peter Gruber are poets, writers – and shepherds. These two long-time members of the Austrian literary scene spend their summers tending sheep and cattle in the Austrian Alps, an experience with the land and landscapes that informs their modern and contemporary prose and poetry. Each has multiple publications to his name.
