Dean Alexie Tcheuyap announces the appointments of two new associate deans on July 1, 2025: Bradley Pomeroy, Assoc. Professor in the School of Accounting and Finance, will become Associate Dean, Graduate Studies, replacing Anna Esselment who will complete her five-year term. Anindya Sen, Professor in the Department of Economics, will become Associate Dean, Co-operative Education and Planning, replacing Robert Park who has been an associate dean over multiple terms since 2004.

Congratulations to Dr. Tao Chen on his appointment as a Sponsored Research Chair (SRC) — the first internationally sponsored chair in the Faculty of Arts which supports both industry and academic innovation. Chen will conduct modelling that has many applications in areas such as health-tech, financial trading automation, and smart cities.

 

Last spring,  Dr. Orchard successfully defended her dissertation and took up a position as Assistant Teaching Professor and Director of Undergraduate Studies for the Idzik Computing and Digital Technologies Minor at the University of Notre Dame. The Faculty of Arts welcomes Dr. Emma Brandt, a new postdoctoral fellow working in Communication Arts who began in her role on September 1, 2024.

PhD student Karmvir Padda from the Department of Sociology and Legal Studies has been awarded the P.E.O. Scholar Award for her contributions to the field of sociology and research on online radicalization and extremism.
