Important dates you need to know

Steps to successful course selection

Been away from your studies for 3 or more terms? Submit an application for undergraduate re-admission to take courses.   Deadlines: Fall 2017 - July 1, 2017; Winter 2018 - November 1, 2017; Spring 2018 - March 1, 2018.

  1. Review the Arts course selection and course load sections of Undergraduate Calendar.
  2. Review the requirements for your Plan (major or minor) in the Undergraduate Calendar. Pay attention to the calendar year that you are following.
  3. Get support from your academic advisor when you’re planning your course selections. (Tip: Always meet with your advisor before course selection week or the drop/add period to avoid long wait times and last-minute problems!)
  4. Choosing a major? Review the recommended 2nd year course lists and declare a major resources.
  5. To find courses that will be offered, use the Course Selection Offerings List. The Schedule of Classes will list the courses as well, but may not be finalized until Course Selection Week ends. 
  6. Familiarize yourself with the Quest how do I select courses instructions. NOTE: Course Selection is NOT available on Quest Mobile.
  7. If you're having trouble requesting a course contact the department; you may need to complete a course selection override form.

Next Steps

  1. View your class schedule on the date listed in the chart above. Log onto Quest and view your class schedule.
  2. Adjust courses if needed
    • If you need to make changes or add new courses, you can do so in Quest when your appointment time starts. Your appointment is in the "appointments" tab.
    • Review the frequently asked questions below.
    • You may add and swap courses until the end of the second week of classes. The drop deadline follows one week later. Verify the deadlines for each term.
    • Making significant changes to your schedule? Speak to your advisor before you make ANY significant changes.
