The Centre for Teaching Excellence, the Centre for Extended Learning, and the Teaching Innovation Incubator have been merged into a single, integrated business unit effective January 2026. For more information, please see the article in the Daily Bulletin.

The University of Waterloo's Centre for Teaching Excellence collaborates with individuals, academic departments, and academic support units to foster capacity and community around teaching and to promote an institutional culture that values effective teaching and meaningful learning.
Last year, CTE reached over 1,400 instructors, graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and staff members through a variety of cross-disciplinary, institution-wide events and programs, including our annual conference that was attended by 422 participants! Equity-Minded Teaching for TAs (CTE2272)
Explore how to apply foundational concepts of equity, diversity, and inclusion to real classroom scenarios through case studies and peer discussions at the Equity-minded Teaching for TAs (CTE2272) workshop. Participants complete a 1-hour module online, followed by a 1.5-hour in-person interactive session.
