CUT Course Design (CTE4073)Export this event to calendar

Monday, June 21, 2021 — 8:30 AM to Sunday, July 11, 2021 — 11:59 PM EDT

Location: Online (Webex Meetings)

Facilitator: Kristin Brown (CTE)

It can be exciting to design your own course, but where do you start? In this module, you will go through the planning process to help you design a course focused on student learning. You’ll begin aligning your course learning goals, assessments, and teaching strategies, all within the context of the course, your students, and yourself as an instructor. You will get a chance to share your ideas in a discussion board, and receive feedback from your peers.

Workshop delivery

Please check your course, GS901: Preparing for University Teaching, in LEARN for more information about the delivery of this online module.

This online module consists of:

  • a set of asynchronous, self-paced tasks in LEARN, that must be completed between June 21 - July 11, 2021.

  • Registration required (if this is your first time using GoSignMeUp, you will need to set up your acccount first)

  • Registration is limited to CUT participants enrolled in GS901.

  • A response paper is required following the workshop.

Many of our workshops have waiting lists, so if you've registered but can't attend, please cancel your registration well in advance through the registration system, so that someone else can fill your spot.

The University of Waterloo is committed to achieving barrier-free accessibility for persons with disabilities who are visiting, studying, or working at Waterloo. CTE’s online workshops are delivered through either WebEx, Microsoft Teams, or Bongo with the audio component available either as captioning or a transcript. CTE’s face-to-face workshops typically involve a mix of presentation and discussion-based activities, and we encourage a scent-free environment. We welcome accompanying assistants, interpreters, and note-takers. If you have questions concerning access, such as parking, building layouts, or obtaining workshop content in alternative formats, or wish to request accommodations for our programming, please let us know by emailing Please note that some accommodations may require time to arrange.
