CUT Interactive Teaching Activities (CTE4165)

Monday, September 26, 2022 8:30 am - Sunday, October 9, 2022 11:59 pm EDT (GMT -04:00)

Location: Online (LEARN and Zoom)

Facilitator: Kristin Brown (CTE)

Description

While many of us want to include more interactive techniques in our teaching, we are often unsure of which activities to use and how to best implement them in our lectures, labs, or tutorials. In this module, we’ll explore which activities work best for the different learning preferences we explored in CTE4068: Understanding the Learner. At the live session in Zoom we will consider how to choose, plan, troubleshoot, and facilitate interactive techniques for different disciplines and classrooms.

Accessibility

The University of Waterloo is committed to achieving barrier-free accessibility for persons with disabilities who are visiting, studying, or working at Waterloo. CTE’s online workshops are delivered through either Zoom, WebEx, Microsoft Teams, or Bongo with the audio component available either as captioning or a transcript. CTE’s face-to-face workshops typically involve a mix of presentation and discussion-based activities, and we encourage a scent-free environment. We welcome accompanying assistants, interpreters, and note-takers. If you have questions concerning access, such as parking, building layouts, or obtaining workshop content in alternative formats, or wish to request accommodations for our programming, please let us know by emailing cte@uwaterloo.ca. Please note that some accommodations may require time to arrange.
