Workshop description

Are you considering incorporating experiential learning into your face-to-face or online course? One solution for doing so is to use the services of Riipen. Riipen is a company that facilitates connections among students, educators, and employers, through meaningful project-based experiences. In Fall of 2017, Umair Shah (Management Sciences) and Jane Chomyc (CEL) worked as a team to pilot Riipen at the University of Waterloo. At this workshop, they will share their experiences implementing it in MSCI 211 Online. Specifically, they will discuss: the platform from various viewpoints, why and how it was used, challenges and benefits experienced, student feedback, and general administration.  Note that you may wish to bring a laptop to follow along. No prior knowledge or experience is required.

Learning outcomes:

After the session, participants will be able to:

  • determine the suitability of Riipen for use in your course
