Students’ Beliefs about Learning (CTE241)

Wednesday, June 14, 2017 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm EDT (GMT -04:00)

Location: EV1 241

Description: What are the factors that hold students back from learning and performing the best they can? How should students go about learning new content? In this interactive workshop, we will introduce and explore students’ mindsets—their identities, insecurities, and beliefs about intelligence and how one should learn—that enter the classroom with them and that can affect their learning before learning has even begun. You will work in small groups to discuss and develop strategies that can be implemented in your classroom to address these issues.

Facilitator: Luke Turcotte, CTE and Crystal Tse, CTE

Notes: Participants will receive an attendance credit if they arrive on time and stay until the end of the event.
