Supporting Student Mental Health (CTE2259)

Monday, March 16, 2020 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm EDT (GMT -04:00)

Location: MC 2036

Facilitator: Kristin Brown (CTE) and Nasim Shojayi (SSO)

Workshop description

Mental health and the well-being of students on our campus is a shared responsibility. There are situations that may arise surrounding student mental health in the classroom and teaching assistants, in many cases, may be the first to notice. In this workshop, we will explore how to proactively support student mental health in the classroom and how to respond to mental health problems that come to your attention. By the end of the workshop, you will develop strategies for supporting students in your role as a teaching assistant and identify relevant support networks and resources within the University.

Registration

  • CTE has a new registration system called GoSignMeUp. Before you can register for a workshop, you need to create an account (one time only). Once you’ve created an account, you can register for this workshop.
  • Participants will receive an attendance credit toward the Fundamentals program if they arrive on time and stay until the end of the event.

Cancellations

Many of our workshops have waiting lists, so if you've registered but can't attend, please cancel your registration well in advance through the registration system, so that someone else can fill your spot.
