Teaching Diverse Learners (CTE257)

Tuesday, June 6, 2017 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm EDT (GMT -04:00)
Location: EV1 241

Description: Our classrooms are filled with students who represent a broad range of racial, cultural, linguistic, physical, and intellectual backgrounds. This workshop provides a starting point for honoring and benefiting from this diversity in our classrooms. Through self-reflection and discussion, we'll provide teaching strategies for optimizing our diverse students' engagement, comprehension, and retention. By the end of this workshop, participants will be better equipped to develop their roles as instructors of diverse learners, to improve classroom accessibility, and to shape instruction to meet student needs.

Notes:
  • Participants will receive an attendance credit if they arrive on time and stay until the end of the event.
