Description: Have you ever thought about teaching an online course at Waterloo? Does the thought of teaching an online course sound scary? Never fear, the Centre for Extended Learning is here to help guide you through the process. Come to this session to learn more about what exactly is involved in designing, developing, and teaching an online course at the University of Waterloo. We will also spend about half of our time addressing challenges and dispelling myths around online teaching. This session is intended for those new to online teaching or at least new to it at Waterloo.

Learning Outcomes: After this session, you will be able to:

  • articulate the main steps involved in online course design and development at Waterloo;
  • describe at least 3 features of quality online courses at Waterloo;
  • address at least one of the most common concerns or questions about online teaching.
