Self-service support:

You make changes in your Workday account that affect your plan, including updating your personal information, changing or adding dependents, and more. The following supporting guides may help you (WatIAM required).

Out-of-Pocket Maximum

Eligible paramedical and drug expenses are shared 80% by the plan and 20% out-of-pocket by the employee.  Once the out-of-pocket maximum is researched, the plan pays 100% of eligible expenses, subject to benefit maximums, and reasonable and customary limits.

The out-of-pocket maximum for 2024 is $143 single coverage and $288 family coverage. This represents 20% of a total of $715 in expenses for single coverage and $1,440 in expenses for family coverage.

Note: It is highly advisable to get predeterminations for significant extended health or dental expenses to be aware of the costs you may incur.

Eligibility and eligible dependents

To be eligible for the extended health benefit, employees and any qualifying dependents must be covered under the applicable provincial health care plan, OR be enrolled in the University Health Insurance Plans (UHIP), which provides provincial healthcare replacement coverage. To ensure your coverage is kept up-to-date, remember to update any changes in your Workday account.

Coordination of benefits

If you, or a dependent, are covered by more than one plan, you will need to coordinate your benefits.
