Common questions

Are these rooms for undergraduate students only?

No – undergraduate students, graduate students, staff, and faculty are able to book working time in these rooms.

Do I need to check-in with anyone when my reserved time begins?

No – once your reserved time begins, you are welcome to enter the working space from inside the Recreation and Leisure Studies Department.

What happens if I arrive at my room booking and the room is occupied?

Back-to-Back appointments are not uncommon. That said, if the calendar states that there is not a booking immediately ahead of your reserved time, please see our undergraduate staff in BMH 2202 and they will verify your booking.

Can I book for more than two hours per day?

Rooms are only able to be booked for 2 hours at a time. This limit is in place to allow as many students as possible to have the opportunity to use these work spaces. If you book more than 2 hours per day, your booking time will be reduced to only 2 hours with the same start time.

Can I reserve the same time slot for an entire term?

No – You are not able to book recurring sessions. This limit is in place to allow as many students as possible to have the opportunity to use these work spaces. If you book multiple sessions in the same time slots, the additional sessions will be cancelled and you will be contacted by one of our Department Staff members.

If the booking after mine does not show up, can I stay longer?

If the appointment after yours does not show within 15 minutes, please see staff in BMH 2202.

What happens if I am unable to attend my reserved time?

If you are unable to attend your reserved room booking, please delete the booking from the calendar or contact rec-advising@uwaterloo.ca to cancel.
