Having trouble adding a course in Quest?

Need help using Quest?

Wondering what your Quest error message means?

Want support from your academic advisor when planning your courses?

Looking for more information on Faculty of Arts courses?

Wondering when you can request/add courses?

Want to know which courses are being offered?

Have questions about tuition and fees?

Want to take a course at another university?

Still have questions?

Why didn't I get into all of the courses I requested?

Requesting your courses in advance (during the Course Selection Period) always gives you the best chance of getting into the courses you want, but it is never a guarantee of enrolment. Successful enrolment depends on scheduling and space in each class.

If you didn't get into a class due to time conflicts, you may be able to swap or drop courses to make room and try to add the class.

If Quest will not allow you to enrol because the course is full or is reserved, visit our Enrolment problems and course overrides page for help.

What should I do if Quest tells me I don't meet the reserve capacity requirements?

What if the class I want to get into is full?

Consider taking the class in a future term when space is available.

If you must take the class in a particular term, follow the instructions on our Enrolment problems and course overrides page to find out if you can request a course override.

Do I have to do anything if I'm not planning to take courses in a particular term?

No. You only participate in the course selection process if you're planning to take courses. You'll get reminder emails about the Course Selection Period and Course Drop/Add Period each term. You can safely ignore these reminders if you do not plan on taking courses in the next study term.
