Depression is a whole-body illness: It involves the body, mood, and thoughts. In this group, you can learn how to recognize, understand, and better manage patterns of feeling, thinking and behaving to help you live a more satisfying life. You will also learn how to focus on pleasure, goal setting, and define your values, all of which can help improve your mood.
This seminar is for Peer Leaders and will discuss strategies and responses to support students who are experiencing difficulty de-escalating their emotions. We will discuss the stages of mental health, risk factors and triggers related to escalated emotions. Understand possible responses the difficult behaviours and various strategies to connect to students in distress.

Learn strategies to manage stress and anxiety
This CBT and mindfulness-based seminar is designed to help you better understand anxiety, its causes, and the factors that maintain it. Throughout this seminar, we will introduce you to a number of strategies designed to alleviate anxiety in the moment, challenge your anxious thoughts, and change behaviours that maintain your anxiety. You will receive an in-depth handout with various strategies for you to try over the coming weeks, some which we will practice during the seminar.

This training consists of a facilitated discussion of the online More Feet on the Ground mental health education program. This program uses those online materials, as well as vignettes to teach students, staff, and faculty how to Recognize, Respond, and Refer individuals experiencing mental health problems on campus.
