Description: A recent survey of Waterloo instructors found that more than 50 different learning technologies (excluding LEARN) are in use on campus. These include technologies that facilitate collaborative learning, peer assessment, dissemination of content, group work, experiential learning, and more. In this session, a panel of Waterloo instructors will briefly share how they use various tools such as Twitter, Kahoot, IF-AT cards, Explain Everything, Pear, Padlet, Slack, Markbox, Google Docs, Top Hat, Screencast-O-Matic, and others.

Learning Outcomes: After the session, participants will be able to:

  • describe the basics of how various learning technologies can be used to support learning;
  • identify online and human resources to learn more about a specific learning technology or to find help in implementing it.
