Location: Online

Facilitator: Victoria Feth (CTE) & Paul Kates (CTE)

Description

This workshop is a Question & Answer (Q&A) session focusing on the effective use of LEARN for TAs.

By the end of this session, TAs will be able to:

  • use the LEARN environment to communicate with students,
  • use some of the basic tools within LEARN, specifically how to :
    • send Announcements,
    • upload Content,
    • sort by/interact with Groups
    • monitor Discussions,
    • grade Dropbox items, and
    • enter grades

For effective participation in the Q&A session there is pre-reading you are required to do that is found in the Teaching Assistant Training LEARN site. You must self-register in the Teaching Assistant Training LEARN course and access the content under "Pre-work for LEARN for TAs (CTE6550)".

Note: TAs should be enrolled in the course they will be working in as a TA with the appropriate permissions and should know the sorts of tasks that they will be asked to complete in that course to make best use of their time in the prerequisite module and the Q&A session.

This session will be offered remotely through MS Teams.

Registrants will receive a link to join the session, 24 hours before the session begins.

AFTER completing the prerequisite module, please come prepared to this Q&A session with your remaining questions. Your LEARN questions will be answered and specific scenarios in LEARN will be demonstrated, as needed.
