"I want to provide a further update on how the University is monitoring the ongoing coronavirus situation, share some important public health reminders as well as a summary of some common questions we are hearing," says a memo by Sandra Banks, vice-president, university relations, which was circulated to the University community yesterday. "A team of stakeholders from across campus meets regularly to monitor and respond to the current situation and we will continue to issue communication to keep the campus community aware of the latest developments.

This is an excerpt of a message from Health Services.

The Human Resource office will be closed on Monday, December 2nd from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. for a full staff meeting. The HR reception desk will be closed during this time. Normal operations will resume at 10:30 a.m.

The University of Waterloo has achieved Gold certification in Excellence Canada's Excellence, Innovation and Wellness (EIW) program, which recognizes the University for its exceptional organizational and workplace practices.

Employee Accessibility Training to be updated

The University’s employee accessibility training is currently being revised to include updates to both our own accessibility initiatives and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).

Do you need help with Workday? Human Resources will be visiting each faculty to to assist with onboarding for new student hires (co-ops and graduate research/graduate teaching assistants) and any inquiries related to the system. Drop by our Pop-up between 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. for assistance.

All new graduate student employees will be required to complete the onboarding process in Workday, which includes setting up banking information for direct deposit. The onboarding process needs to be completed as soon as possible to ensure that pay can be issued at the end of each month. Graduate students who have completed onboarding in a previous term will be prompted to verify or update their information. If you need assistance, please contact hrhelp@uwaterloo.ca or ext. 35935.

Since the launch of Workday, we have continued to improve our processes and the support we provide to enhance your experience. Here are some changes that will be effective April 1^st.

The Accessibility Committee has published the Multi-Year Accessibility Plan (MYAP) after engaging in consultation with the University community.

For the past month, since the launch of Workday, the Workday Support Centre has been busy assisting employees with the transition to the new HR system. In January, we had more than 9000 unique log-ins to Workday.  As of February 11^th, support for employees will continue to be available by phone (extension 35935) and email (hrhelp@uwaterloo.ca), however EC1 1004 will no longer serve as a drop-in centre.
