Working at Disney
Program participants will have the opportunity to work in front-of-the-house operations at Disney’s theme parks and resorts and obtain real-world experience working for a world-renowned entertainment company. This will be an once-in-a-lifetime experience where students will meet people from all over the world and gain valuable experience for their resume. Students will work with and learn invaluable business strategies from Disney leaders and develop and refine their skills in leadership, communication, guest service, teamwork, and responsibility.
Participants will have the opportunity to work in the following roles:
- Full-service food and beverage
- Lifeguard
- Character performer
- Character attendant
- Costuming*

Role rotation – if any of the following roles are assigned, students will rotate through two of them during the course of the program:
- Quick service restaurant
- Operations: attractions or operations: main entrance
- Merchandise
Students will work approximately 37 hours per week and be paid approximately $16 USD per hour. Slight variation in hourly pay rate varies by role assigned. Scheduled hours may increase when classes are not in session or during employee transition periods. Participants will have the opportunity to work at any one of Walt Disney World® Resort theme parks, resorts or other recreational areas including water parks and Downtown Disney® Area.
Housing and transportation
- Housing costs will be deducted from students’ weekly pay, and will be $82 – $108/week depending on the size and location of the apartment complex
Transportation to and from housing and work areas is provided along with a shuttle to nearby malls, restaurants, grocery stores, etc. You can bring your own vehicle if you wish but you need a Florida state license and insurance to park on property.
