Admission requirements

Below is a list of admission requirements in order to apply for the Disney Exchange Experience. If you are unsure about any requirements, please see your academic advisor.

  • Age 18 or older
  • Second year level (2A or higher) at your home institution
  • Currently enrolled and in good academic standing at your home institution (minimum 73% average)
  • Engaged in an appropriate course of study such as hospitality, tourism, recreation, sport management, business or related field
  • Recommendation by your home institution for participation in the Disney Program
  • Interview and recommendation by University of Florida (UF) staff and Disney College Program Recruiter
  • Financial support to cover the costs of the program and personal expenses
  • Desire to perform at a high-level in both the academic and work components of the program
  • Positive, professional, friendly attitude and service orientation.
  • Have a minimum score of 80 or higher on the Internet-based TOEFL or a 6.5 on the IELTS (if English is not first language)

Cost

The total program cost is $4,200*USD per student. The program cost includes: 

  • Tuition and fees for 12 credit hours at the University of Florida
  • Lodging accommodations and all meals for time spent in Gainesville, FL
  • All area transportation, transportation to and from the Gainesville Regional Airport, and transportation from the UF campus to the Walt Disney World® Resort
  • Admission to one UF sporting event
  • Orientation and graduation reception
  • Gator 1 ID Card, which grants access to all of the University of Florida’s instructional, technological and student resources
  • Supervision and support by UF program faculty and staff for the duration of the Academic Exchange Experience
  • Disney program fees

Additional Costs

  • VISA fee SEVIS I-901 approximately $220 USD
  • J1 VISA (non Canadian students) approximately $160 USD
  • Airfare/transportation to and from Florida
  • Health Insurance
  • Food and beverage while living at Disney
  • Accommodation while living at Disney
  • Field trips and cultural excursions
  • Any expense related to the application process such as background check
  • Textbook and course material
