The Call for Proposals is now open for the 15th annual University of Waterloo Teaching and Learning Conference taking place on May 2, 2024. Last year saw over 500 faculty members, staff, and students gather in-person online to learn from and with one another around the theme of “Teaching and Learning with Kindness and Care”. Our 2024 conference theme is “Sparking and Sustaining Engagement”.

CTE recently held its inaugural Instructional Innovations Week! In support of teaching as an ever-evolving practice, we held workshops related to the core themes of Scholarship of Teaching & Learning, EdTech and generative artificial intelligence (GenAI), student engagement and wellness, and sustainability.

CTE's 2023 PD Day!

The 14th Annual University of Waterloo Teaching and Learning conference was held this past May 3 and 4, with a day of online pre-conference workshops preceding the in-person conference, the first since our last in-person conference in 2019. After two years of online conferences to sustain conversations around teaching and learning in the midst of the pandemic, the energy and community-building emerging from our return to in-person was inspiring.

April was an exciting and busy month for CTE.  We were able to offer some of our Signature Annual Events -- including the Waterloo Assessment Institute and the PebblePad Showcase -- in person after so long!
