Proposals are invited for the 13th annual University of Waterloo Teaching and Learning Conference taking place on April 27 and April 28, 2022. Our 2022 conference theme is “Fostering Partnerships in Pedagogy.” We are excited to welcome Dr. Alison Cook-Sather, Mary Katherine Woodworth Professor of Education and Director of the Teaching and Learning Institute at Bryn Mawr College, as our keynote speaker.

We are excited to announce that the 2021 CUT Award has been awarded to Justin Toth, a PhD student in the Department of Combinatorics and Optimization. The award recognizes Justin’s strong commitment to his development as a university instructor.

CTE is proud to announce that a project led by Monica Vesely (Educational Developer, Faculty Programs and Consulting) has received funding as part of Ontario’s Virtual Learning Strategy (VLS). The VLS supports initiatives that will provide students with more flexibility and access to high-quality postsecondary education and retraining opportunities.
Since its inception in 1975, over 150 Distinguished Teacher Awards (DTAs) have been awarded to exemplary instructors at the University of Waterloo. The DTA is awarded to four instructors annually at the March meeting of Senate.

The Amit & Meena Chakma Award for Exceptional Teaching by a Student (AETS) awards are open to all students who have a formal teaching role at the University of Waterloo. Up to four awards are given annually.

We are pleased to announce that registration is open for our 12th annual University of Waterloo Teaching and Learning Conference taking place on April 28 & April 29, 2021. Because the COVID-19 pandemic forced the cancellation of our 2020 conference, we will be proceeding with the theme of “Learning Through Assessment” that we had planned for that year.
