General information session for working outside of North America

If you’re interested in completing a co-op work term outside of North America, please attend the workshops offered by the Centre for Career Action. They publish a brochure of workshops for every term that you can access on the main page of their site. Look for the category, 'International Work Search'.

You will find out how to search for international jobs, hear from previous co-op students who have completed an international work term, and will learn about the international employment process.

Mandatory pre-departure training on LEARN

  • Regardless if you have done a previous work term abroad or not, you must complete the online pre-departure training in LEARN. This is mandatory for all Waterloo students. Instructions will be sent to you once your job is showing on your work term record and the course is open.
  • Not completing the pre-departure training course could affect your opportunity to work abroad for your co-op term and receive credit for it.
