Join the SDG Impact Challenge 2023!

Co-operative and Experiential Education, in partnership with the Waterloo Institute for Sustainable Energy (WISE) and Impact Alliance, invite Waterloo students from all disciplines, programs, full/part-time and years of studies to participate and create innovative solutions to real issues.

At the hackathon, Rajnish Jain, founder of Avani Bio Energy, will present a real-life sustainability challenge his India-based organization is facing. Students will work together in groups, based on four themes: technology, economy, environment and society.

Registration details:

  • This is a free two-day, in-person event; only register if you intend on coming both days in person.
    • Register as an individual: you will be put into a team.
    • Register as a team: All members are required to register individually using the registration form. In the ‘additional comments’ section of the form, indicate who you would like to work with and we will try and keep you together.
  • This is a collaborative event, not a competition — all groups will work together to design a single solution to the challenge.
  • All students who actively participate in the event will be entered into a draw for a chance to win one of five $500 CAD cash prizes.
  • Registration closes February 24, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. Spots are limited, register today!
