University of Waterloo Special Constable Service
Special Constables are on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They are fully trained police officers and have the same enforcement powers as Waterloo Regional Police.
The Special Constables provide emergency help lines, safety alarms, tips for personal safety, and 24-hour-a-day campus patrolling & emergency telephone service. They are committed to providing a safe and secure environment for our community to work, study, and live.

- AccessAbility Services
- Provides information, academic accommodation, and support students for persons with disabilities.
- Campus Response Team
- A volunteer program that provides first aid and CPR services at campus events.
- Conflict Management and Human Rights Office
- Provides help and information for people dealing with conflict or human rights issues.
- Counselling Services
- Free on-campus confidential counseling services for Waterloo students, staff, and faculty.
- First Aid training
- Waterloo's athletics department offers a number of first aid courses.
- GLOW – Centre for Sexual and Gender Diversity
- GLOW offers an information / peer-support line for students of all sexual orientations and gender identities.
- Campus Wellness
- On-campus medical services for Waterloo students.
- Off-Campus dons
- A network of upper-year students who act as a resource for first-year students living off campus.
- Residence dons
- Upper-year students who live in residence and provide support and guidance to first-year students.
- Self-defense workshops
- A special interest course offered by Waterloo's Athletics and Recreation department.
- Student Success Office
- Organizes Orientation and other transitional events for first-year students.
- Turnkey Desk
- The Turnkey Desk in the Student Life Centre is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Student "turnkeys" are available assist you and answer any questions you may have.
