Winter 2025 course selection process

Step 1: Course Selection Period - September 20 to September 30, 2024

Course selection process

  • Log into Quest and learn how to use Quest.
  • Select the "Course Selection tab" (not the Enrol tab) to select courses for a future term.
  • Use the Schedule of Classes to confirm if a course is being offered - Make sure to select the Winter 2025 term (1241) when searching. Note that class details such as days and times will not be available until early-November.
  • Review the Undergraduate Studies Academic Calendar course descriptions listing to learn more about each course, including any pre-requisites.
  • Arts First courses (ARTS 130 and ARTS 140) are not available during the Course Selection Period. You will add your remaining Arts First course during the Drop/Add Period. See step 2 below.

Follow your plan-specific instructions below.

Honours Arts students:

  • You will need to request 4 courses for the Winter term, including at least one prospective major course.
  • For guidance on which courses to take for each major, refer to the Honours Arts Major Chart to determine the required course(s).
  • The fifth spot in your schedule will remain open for ARTS 130 or ARTS 140, to be added starting November 13.
  • If space is available, you can select an elective(s).

Step 2: Course Drop/Add Period - Begins November 11, 2024

Changes can be made to your schedule during the Drop/Add Period, if necessary.

For the fall term, all new students had the same Drop/Add appointment time, however, for the winter term (and going forward), you will have your own specific Drop/Add appointment time.

Winter Drop/Add Period appointments will begin November 11 or 12 and will go until the last day to add a class in the winter term. Appointment times will be viewable in Quest starting on November 7 -  to view yours, follow the instructions on the Quest help page.

Step 3: Add ARTS 130 or ARTS 140 - Begins November 13, 2024

Add ARTS 130 or ARTS 140

You will need to add your remaining Arts First required course (ARTS 130 or ARTS 140) to your winter schedule through Quest during the Drop/Add Period, once open enrolment begins on Wednesday, November 22 at 9:00 a.m. Eastern Time.

Detailed steps on how to add your ARTS 130 or ARTS 140 required course are outlined on the How you'll enrol page on the Arts First website.
