Co-op student single-handedly finds her dream job

For over a year, Hilary Lam, a kinesiology student with a specialization in ergonomics, relentlessly emailed the managers of firms she was determined to join. In winter 2016, her perseverance finally paid off. Hilary landed an eight-month work-term at Advantage Forensics, doing what she enjoys the most: forensic investigation.

Waterloo shares the love at NACE

The University of Waterloo was in good company at the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) conference, with notable co-op employers such as Disney and Uber attending the event. Located in the windy city of Chicago, NACE occurred over the course of three days and saw Waterloo upholding its reputation as the global leader in co-operative education.

Top 5 FAQs co-op students ask their advisors

Chantal Wall, a Student Advisor, located in Toronto, offers her guidance and support to Waterloo students throughout their co-op work terms. She shared her insights by answering the top five most frequently asked questions.

  1.     Why isn’t my evaluation showing up on Jobmine?

Similar to an employee evaluation form, the Student Performance Evaluation form is used for mid-term reviews and end-of-term evaluations. Students are solely responsible for arranging a time with their employers to ensure that the evaluation is completed.
