Waterloo student’s entrepreneurship, ingenuity highlighted in BlogTO story

When the world turned upside down 2020, a Waterloo Engineering student decided to take it upon himself to help people adapt to their new surroundings.

Charlie Frise, an Architectural Engineering student, began designing spaces for people working from home amid COVID-19 while pursuing an Entrepreneurial Co-op option.

Finding co-op success beyond Canada

Amid the uncertainty of the global pandemic, Ayman Mahin Gostar and Marco Lamothe’s co-op journey led them to international success.
 
Lockdowns and travel restrictions made securing co-op roles a challenge. These two University of Waterloo students were resilient and landed jobs in Europe and the Middle East.

Health Studies students recognized for outstanding cancer research

Outstanding Young Investigator Award winners: Tara Berhoozian and Emily Lam

Two University of Waterloo Health Studies students are being recognized for exceptional contributions to cancer research during their co-op terms at the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.

Emily Lam and Tara Behroozian are winners of the Outstanding Young Investigator Award for 2020 and 2021, respectively.

The award will be officially presented by the Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer (MASCC) at its virtual conference on June 24 to 26.
