This is one of the First Thai recipes I ever made back in the 80’s. It started me on my journey into Asian cuisine. A friend went to Thailand in the eighties brought me back an original Thai cookbook. At that time certain Asian ingredients were hard to find in Canada, but with the help of an Asian grocer who I befriended I was well on my way to exploring new tastes and textures and unique ingredients.

This is the way that I prepare steak for myself and my wife at home. It is not the traditional way of cooking a steak, but the results are great. Any kind of steak can be cooked this way. If you decide to use a larger cut of meat (10 oz or more, or Tomahawk steak) you should consider using an oven in combination with a stove for cooking.

Growing up one of my favorite cookies was called a haystack, the recipe had lots of butter and sugar.  This new version of an old classic replaces the butter with coconut oil and the sugar with honey. It is a super easy recipe and can be stored in the freezer so when you get that sweet craving you can just grab one to satisfy.
