What’s happened so far 

The project team is striving to provide strong and transparent communications, and will provide monthly updates starting October 2017 on the progress of the co-op deep dive project. 

July 2018

  • Begin formation of initial findings and recommendations
  • Finalize consultation summary report 
  • Continue updates of the Your Co-op Fee website with additional details and FAQs
  • ​Meet with the Student Advisory Panel to review student consultation data and the Current State Analysis report

June 2018

  • Consultations continue to be carried out - 7 student focus groups completed
  • Analysis of the student survey data to identify key takeaways
  • Recruitment of new Student Advisory Panel members, and launch of new panel for Spring

May 2018

  • Consultations continue to be carried out - student survey completed with over 3,900 respondents
  • New and updated content for website, including new FAQs and main page information
  • Recruitment of new Student Advisory Panel members, and launch of new panel for Spring

April 2018

  • Began preliminary analysis of project learnings (only from material gathered thus far in the Current State).
  • Started development of new/updated content for project website
  • Designed framework for what "student consultations" will look like over May/early June.
  • Prepared for transition and turnover in the project's student members (with new Feds representation as of May 1st, and new Student Advisory Panel members to be recruited in May) 

March 2018

  • SAP meeting held end of Mar to engage/consult on the co-op fee consultation plan, as well as gather general SAP member feedback/input on specific project themes. 
  • Began consultations and conversations with CEE staff members and Finance.
  • Larger communication and project updates carried out to campus stakeholders

February 2018

  • Continued work on "Current State Analysis" summary package.
  • Continued communication updates to website and stakeholders as project progresses.
  • Framework developed for the "Consultation Phase" happening in Mar/Apr 2018

January 2018

  • Developed content and launched the co-op fee deep dive project website, which includes project updates and project plan
  • Finalized work on breakdown of co-op fee
  • SAP meeting held end of Jan to engage/consult on the co-op fee breakdown details
  • Project updates shared at Co-op Education Council

December 2017

  • Identified project updates and communication as a priority, and began development of content for a co-op fee deep dive project website
  • Began breaking down and reviewing co-op fee actuals – starting with a review of staff/salary costs distributed into the six specific co-op areas of work
  • Began brainstorming and developing the first draft of the “Current State Analysis” summary package

November 2017

  • First SAP meeting held to introduce SAP student members to deep dive project
  • Consultations with Directors in Co-op held to create a detailed understanding of how staff are supporting six specific co-op areas of work (established in October)

October 2017

  • Creation of terms of reference for SAP, and recruitment of SAP members by Feds
  • Establishment of six work categories that will guide the review of the co-op fee’s distribution

July 2017 

  • Initial kick-off meeting with all project team members
  • Creation and review of written project charter (goals, timelines, etc)
  • Agreement to establish Student Advisory Panel (SAP), chaired by Feds
