We are the largest engineering school in Canada, with more than 9,500 students enrolled in 2016. In 2016/17, external research funding from Canadian and international partners exceeded $64 million, a strong indication of our extensive industry partnerships and the excellence of our engineering research programs.

  2. June 16, 2017Professor collaborating on AI application for doctors

    Waterloo Engineering professor Alexander Wong is cited in an online U.S. magazine story about a company planning to introduce artificial intelligence (AI) into a social network for doctors.

    Wong, a systems design engineering professor and Canada Research Chair in medical imaging systems, is collaborating with Figure 1 of Toronto on work involving electrocaridiograms and machine-learning software.

  3. June 15, 2017Students set sights on next overseas aid project

    A group of six Waterloo Engineering students is building on a successful aid project in Bangladesh by launching a not-for-profit organization to make even more of a difference in the developing world.

    Engineers For Hope began two years ago as a student design team made up of civil engineering classmates Adnan Abu Atiya, Tariq Hasan, Rumman Rahman, Shihab Saadeldeen, Nirbhay Singh and Youssef Zaki.

    Goose II is in the process of being built, but in the meantime we've been busy prepping something special!

    Join us at the Federation Hall at the University of Waterloo for a celebration of yet another milestone for our team. We will be revealing our new and improved pod that will be competing in California this upcoming summer.

    Waterloop is a student run team and although tickets are free, donations on the day of the event are more than appreciated.
